1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Morning Briefing ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. Product Description

Morning Briefing is a command-line interface (CLI) tool that gathers weather, calendar events, news headlines, and reminders from local and public data sources. The Software is distributed as an npm package and operates entirely on the user's local machine.

3. License Tiers

Free tier: Provides access to the weather module at no cost. No license key required.
Pro tier ($5 one-time): Unlocks all modules (weather, calendar, news, reminders). Requires a valid license key purchased through our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy.

4. License Key

Each Pro license key is bound to one machine upon activation.
License keys are non-transferable.
The license is perpetual — once purchased, it does not expire.
Tampering with or circumventing the license mechanism is prohibited.

5. Payment & Refunds

All payments are processed securely through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record.
Prices are in USD. Applicable taxes are calculated and collected by Lemon Squeezy.
Refund requests may be submitted within 14 days of purchase by contacting us at ddakju@gmail.com. Refunds are issued at our discretion.

6. Data & Privacy

Morning Briefing runs locally on your machine. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data.
Weather data is fetched from public APIs (wttr.in, Open-Meteo). Calendar and Reminders data is read from your local macOS apps and never leaves your machine.
License activation communicates only your license key and a machine fingerprint (anonymized hash) with Lemon Squeezy's API for validation purposes.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. We do not guarantee the accuracy of weather data, news feeds, or any third-party data sources.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the author or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the Software. This includes but is not limited to missed calendar events, inaccurate weather data, or any decisions made based on the Software's output.

9. Third-Party Services

The Software relies on third-party services (wttr.in, Open-Meteo, macOS Calendar, macOS Reminders, RSS/Atom feeds). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or terms of these services.

10. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Software constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Open Source

The Software's source code is available under the MIT License. These Terms & Conditions apply specifically to the commercial Pro license and the distribution of license keys.
